Holiday Palace hotel outdoor pool
A few weeks ago I received an invitation from the group's marketing department Holiday World of Benalmádena, Málaga. Taking advantage that I was going to spend a few days in Torremolinos I decided to accept it and spend a weekend in the Only hotel with the All Inclusive option of this area of the Spanish geography.
How to get
We, who don't have a car, had to get to the complex from Torremolinos by public transport.
The best option available is the bus. In Torremolinos we took the M-120 bus (1.55 Euros) although if you come directly from Malaga airport you can take the M-128 that leaves you right at the famous roundabout of the elephants, at the entrance of the Holiday World.
There is a project - it seems that it takes years like this - to stop the commuter train but for now, although the tracks can be seen from the balconies of the rooms, the trains continue to pass by every day.
If you have car and you come from Malaga towards Cádiz, you must take the Benalmádena exit 222 Benalmádena / Arroyo de la Miel on the A-7, pass Benalmádena towards Fuengirola and after the Torrequebrada Urbanization you will find the roundabout with the elephants. The same end will have your route if you come from the south towards Málaga and take exit 211 of Fuengirola on the A-7 and continue N-340 towards Benalmádena.
The magnificent hall of the Holiday Palace
We got off the bus and walked to the access door to the complex. There we gave our name and a small free bus, which operates within the complex, took us to the Holiday Palace, which would be our house for a weekend.
Upon entering the hotel from 4 stars offering 148 Junior Suite rooms You are immediately struck by the spectacular hall on the right hand side. Arabic in style, it mimics a kind of oasis where palm trees and water convey a sense of peace conducive to enjoying the holidays.
It is in this area where the main facilities of the hotel are located.
He buffet restaurant “The Gallery”Is where breakfast, lunch and dinner take place at established times. To eat something at heart, you have the alternative of “La Tahona”, a more informal bar that also has pool tables and a computer area to connect to the internet.
If you are one of those who like to eat buffet you will enjoy as we did in The Gallery. It was difficult to choose between the variety of salads and the various hot dishes we found both at lunch and dinner. Tender and tasty tenderloins, tuna steaks, homemade croquettes ... All cooked at the time by the great professional team of the Holiday Palace kitchen.
Desserts were a separate topic. Special mention for the fantastic chocolate fountain in which we sink waffles, clouds and profiteroles as if we were children.
La Tahona is usually quite lively at night, when many of the hotel guests enjoy drinks while attending some of the many live performances that take place every week. If the atmosphere decays a little, the professional animators of the hotel will be responsible for making the staff come up.
Next to La Tahona there is one of my favorite rooms: the Sport bar.
Equipped with a large screen is the meeting point for those who love sports ... From the armchair. There are several scattered tables facing the screen and some pool tables. On Saturday night we took the opportunity to watch the game that faced Real Madrid and Ray while we had a good national rum with the other couple of guest bloggers.
Not all brands of alcoholic beverages are available in the option of "all inclusive" but I think you will not have a complaint since you can choose from a good selection.
For those who prefer the playful activities You can check the board that you will find next to the reception every week. There is a bit of everything: dancing, billiards, darts, sports ... All of them orchestrated by the hotel entertainment team.
You can also find one souvenir shop and a recreation room but if you really want to relax you must go through it spa.
The Holiday Palace Spa has a heated pool, cervical jet, massage stations at different heights, jacuzzi, aerobics room, sauna, changing rooms, Turkish bath and gym. Access is allowed both to residents and non-residents of the hotel (12 euros for 2 hours and 20 euros for 4 hours).
We, however, tried another resort spa:
